Writing bliss

I don't claim to write anything great. I am, obviously, not original enough to write my own stories. I don't have the skill to write long stories. I happily write clichés. But oh, isn't it a lovely feeling when you have struggled with a story and you get that inner click, the moment when you realise where you are going with it and how satisfying it will be to draw it to that particular conclusion?

Then it doesn't matter that, on the large scheme of things, isn't very important.

Writing original stories is no more (or less) original than writing fiction. And in my estimation, every word - large or small, new or old - is important. You are sharing part of you. Thoughts, feelings, ideas, purpose - and that is always, always important. The perks are when you feel joy, when you feel that 'click' as you say - and when you share it with the rest of us.

I don't know, when you write fanfiction you borrow someone else's characters and world building. On the otehr hand, it takes some skill to be able to write a character "right". Interpretations is always in the eye of the beholder, of course, but nothing makes me stop reading something so much as feeling that a character isn't written right. :)

But yes, it's an enormous perk when it clicks and to share.
