Aw, hurrah for fests and being emboldened! \o/ (Good luck with both of them!)
Thank you!
I always find it interesting what one likes and dislike when it comes to fanfic. For me darkfics has a strong connection to catharsis and when I was deeply depressed I couldn't write anything that wasn't dark. I still like it now that I'm well, prefer it even, but I don't have the same need for it. And writing for DW has opened up a whole new area of writing for me, fics that can actually be funny or sweet. That's nice.
But Im not drawn to it in other forms of literature unless it's something like Hamlet- but then you know it will end on a dark note, just like you know something labelled darkfic will. I don't like surprises, I suppose. I want to know what I'm getting in order to enjoy it. :)
Oh yes, writing is the biggest part of the fun, isn't it? It's always nice to get feedback, but that's more the icing of the cake. :)
