Idk about the fandom corners, maybe that reason is playing indeed, maybe you just like to explore stuff that's a bit different and less widespread than other parts of the audience. Also, those are interesting thoughts about tragic books vs. tragic fics! I like tragedy in both, so I can't speak much for it, but it makes sense to me, definitely!
