When I was a kid and teenager I was also 'writing' fanfic in my head, often Mary Sue type of my favorite books and TV shows. Most commonly Star Trek TNG and Voyager and this series of Polish children's books about a boy named Tomek who travelled all over the world. I didn't realize at the time other people did it too.
