Answers to the writing meme

[livejournal.com profile] liadtbunny asked: 2. Things that motivate you
If I have a day when I don’t write anything, I get grumpy. If I have a good idea, I get even more itchy to write. But I’m not sure there are any actual real things which motivates me.

[livejournal.com profile] a_phoenixdragon asked: 11. Do you listen to music when writing?
No, I find that too distracting. Oddly enough I can write when people talk around me. But I listen to music when I think about what I want to write and often connect songs with a certain fic.

[livejournal.com profile] a_phoenixdragon asked: 13. Hardest character to write
Straight up male heros. I never know what they are going to say. I don’t write them much- is my damsels in distress are saved, they do it themselves.

[livejournal.com profile] meathiel asked: 19. Favorite fandom to write
At the moment I hugely enjoy writing Versailles-fic, but even if I write less in the Doctor Who-fandom, it’s still a huge favourite of mine.

[livejournal.com profile] frelling_tralk asked: 22. Favorite story you’ve ever written
My favourites tend to be newer stories. At the moment I think it’s Darkness and Light (Versailles) because it’s the first happy-ish) love story I have ever written, and I think it turned out fine. I also really like Professor Keller (Doctor Who) because I think I managed the building horror in it pretty well.

[livejournal.com profile] manue7a asked:25. Favorite line you’ve ever written
Yes, this is hard! And nearly impossible to say. I’ve written fanfics for 13 years, and I know there are many lines I’ve felt very pleased with. But the one which popped up in my mind when I read the question, was this:

“Not so much an oncoming storm as a furious whirlwind, unpredictable and destructive, but still, somehow she had stepped right into the eye of the tornado where it was calm and safe” /Sliding Down the Razorblades of Life (Doctor Who)

[livejournal.com profile] meathiel asked: 26. Story you’re most proud of
Also hard to answer! I feel it ought to overlap with favourite story. But I feel proud over A Place in the Shadows (Penny Dreadful), It turned out almost exactly as I had envisioned, and I like the themes of friendship and cake.

[livejournal.com profile] a_phoenixdragon asked: 27. Best review you ever got
When I first posted All Within (Harry Potter) on ff.net, I got the best comments on almost every chapter from a person, who not only really liked it, but also gave really well-thought out comments on it. The kind of comments you wish you’d get on everything you write.

[livejournal.com profile] meathiel asked: 37. Canon or AU?
Well, I don’t much care for coffee shops AU, or the like, or AU’s where characters from one fandom re-live a story from another. But I enjoy canon-based what-if AU’s a lot. So I guess I like canon the best. :)

[livejournal.com profile] frelling_tralk and [livejournal.com profile] liadtbunny asked: 38. Do you reread your own stories?
Yes I do! I write the stories I want to read, and my taste in themes and pairing usually fall into the less written category. Mostly don’t cringe on re-reads and quite often I think I’m pretty good. But I spot new typos every time!

[livejournal.com profile] paynesgrey asked: 39. Do you want to be published some day?
I’m already published. :) I’ve written a few fact-based articles. But when it comes to fiction, then, no. It’s not that I wouldn’t love it, but I don’t think I have what is needed. I’m pretty good at characterizations and emotions, but I suck at plots. Almost everything I have written hinges on the interaction between two people, with few extras, and I don’t think it would hold up for longer works.

[livejournal.com profile] liadtbunny asked: 40. Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series
I’ve never thought about that! Hmm, for purely self-gratuitous reasons, I would like to see my series of fics with the Master and River Song. I know it’s an impossible dreams to see Delgado!Master and River Song together, but Missy would be entirely possible. I also think The Doctor and the Sun could be expanded into a proper Doctor Who-episode, if Four was still around, that is.
