I read and write in English every day, which I think has a lot to do with keeping it alive. Also, I've studied English at university level too. But yeah, I think the earlier you start, the easiest it is. There's a school in Stockholm which focus on langauge from the start (we start school at six in Sweden) and when the students graduate the speak at least four of five languages fluently,
