Awww :D I like the story... its sooo cute (and, IMHO, very true). The fight between Hook and Pan is just as much a game as it is a search for vengance. Where is the satisfaction in killing Pan so easily? Hook would want a victory he can relish for years to come, to prove once and for all that HE was the best.

And really, to kill Peter after catching him like this would be truly murdering a defenseless child. Far better for what passes as the Captain's conscience to kill Peter in combat, when he's showing abilities that set him far apart from an ordinary child and make it more acceptable for Hook to kill him.

And maybe Hook enjoys the game more than he'd like to admit, and doesn't REALLY want it to end.
