Oh, I’m the queen of tropes. A majority of my stories are melodramas were the villain twirls his mustaches and crones “I have you now, my pretty!” to the hapless heroine. It is perfectly ok, I write for fun and not profit and I have great fun writing such stories. My editing tool doesn’t, it frequently complains that I write clichés.

I write rape, or dubious consent, a lot, which, as I have mentioned before, are a mix of self-therapy and fantasy. On the whole my earlier stores were more about therapy, my later fantasies, but they are mingled and all my fics have elements of both.

I have also a strong preference for dark stories, which I think is partly because I, in contraries to my fondness of the melodramatic, also want realism. People don’t bounce back from rape, evil men don’t get good because they find true love and it is very difficult to write happy stories with that in mind.

I like to read what I write, so I am drawn to stories that contain NC, BDSM and lean toward the dark. Not exclusively, but a lot. The recs here are both my own stories and stories I like:

Story: In Hook’s Clutches by me
Fandom: Peter Pan
Summary: Wendy has grown up and her adventures in Neverland are very far from her mind when she is abducted by an enemy she thought long gone.
Characters: Wendy Darling,/Captain Hook,/Peter Pan
Rating and warnings: NC-17 Graphic NC, slash and violence
Why I rec it: An example of, probably over the top, melodrama.

Story: Wedding Night by me
Fandom: Peter Pan
Summary: The wedding, that's the end of the story. the beautiful girl gets the boy and they are going to live happily ever after. No one really expect the villain to re-enter at that point, but sometimes he does.
Characters: Captain Hook/Wendy Darling
Rating and warnings: NC-17 Graphic violence and NC, blood play and implied slash.
Why I rec it: Not my best fic, it is my very first fic, written before I realized that I had some issues about sexual assault to work through

Story: Escaping Isengard by Zoop
Fandom: Lord of the Rings
Summary: At the end of despair, when all hope has faded, a woman facing the last moments of her life finds the will to survive rekindled by one whose kind robbed her of it to begin with. Now she must decide which evil is the lesser: stay with the beast, or risk worse by leaving him. She soon finds that the horrors she faced in Isengard were not reserved for those in the breeding pits alone.
Rating and warnings: R and NC
Why I rec it: A really hard read about a woman who has been used to breed Uruk-hai and is saved by one of them when Isengard falls. There is no cosmetics to make rape and rape recovery anything else than horrible. It’s also very well-written with great character evolvement.

Story: A Matter of Choice by me
Fandom: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Summary: Veruca Salt can’t forget her experiences in the chocolate factory and one day she returns.
Characters: Willy Wonka/Veruca Salt/Charlie Bucket
Rating and warnings: NC-17, explicit sex and BDSM
Why I rec it: The first story I wrote with completely consensual BDSM

Story: Queen and Mistress by LilacFree
Fandom: Classic Doctor Who
Summary: So what's Peri up to? What's it like being Queen of a bunch of space barbarians? It's no bed of roses. The King is dead and she's in charge. It's all the Doctor's fault. And guess who is darkening her doorstep?
Characters: Peri Brown/The Master (Ainley)
Rating and warnings: NC-17 Graphic sex and BDSM
Why I rec it: A story that does a great job balancing consent with real danger.

Story: My Pleasure, Miss Shaw by me
Fandom: Classic Doctor Who
Summary: After Elizabeth Shaw has left the Doctor she is contacted by an intriguing stranger who she thinks wants her scientific expertise, but in reality he wants far more.
Characters: Li Shaw/The Master (Delgado)
Rating and warnings: R Extremely dubious consent and BDSM
Why I rec it: Guilty pleasure fic for me, basically shameless self-insertion as I adore Rodger Delgado’s Master and I actually look a lot like Lis Shaw.

Story: The Haunting of Mrs. Darling by me
Fandom: Peter Pan
Summary: Mrs. Darling’s dreams bring her no peace.
Characters: Mrs. Darling/Captain Hook
Rating and warnings: R Dubious consent and mindfuck
Why I rec it. A very typical example of the kind of darkfic I write

Story: Two Hours/Eventually by Daystar Searcher
Fandom: Classic Doctor Who
Summary: Take place in the very dark alternate universe from Inferno where the Doctor has been imprisoned by UNIT and Jo becomes his assistant after being sentenced to lifetime in prison
Characters: The Third Doctor, Josephine Grant
Rating and warnings: R References to violence and sexual assault.
Why I rec it: A rather bleak story that still manage to get the voice of the characters pitch perfect. It has an even darker sequel, Two Birds In A Cage, which I also highly recommend.
