lost_spook who recced it at genplosion at Dreamwidth, and I found it so good I had to rec it as well. I was reared on British television, British humor always work in Sweden. I can’t fathom why Doctor Who never made it here, but Monty Python, The Young Ones, Not the Nine o’Clock News, red Dwarf and a number of other series did. And Blackadder, of course. There is actually such a huge fanbase in Sweden than when it was decided to make a play out of Blackadder Goes Forth it premiered in Sweden. I’m not sure it has even reached Great Britain yet. (The reasoning was; If it’s good, it will break in Sweden as they love the show so much, if it flops it won’t be such a financial bo-bo because, Sweden.) So I love the show and I especially love ELizabethan Blackadder. Rowan Atkinson actually manage to look hot- must be the beard and the earing and everything is just brilliant. So it this Doctor Who/Blackadder crossover.

Why I rec it: This story was written before The Day of the Doctor, so it explains why Elizabeth I didn’t like the Doctor in a way that is no longer canon. But it doesn’t matter! It’s a hilarious romp and still, within the frame of the series, actually totally logic. And though I kind of anticipated the ending, it was still brilliant. The author nails everyone’s character and I’m left with a hopeless longing after this being made into a television special.
