Interesting. I answered the question on my LJ several times already, too. (Last Time for the Talking Meme I did in June here, I think.) I basically started thinking up and actually writing fanfic long before I got Internet and subsequently discovered that this was a thing other people also did.

Fanfic has been a constant companion for me through good and bad times and now that I'm in a very good place I'm still writing.
