Darkness and Light, chapter 1

I slept for 12 hours straight and woke up with a cold. So I have spent the day in bed with my husband’s laptop and assorted cats.

I know it’s pretty boring to read fics from a fandom you don’t know anything about, so I don’t expect many of you have an interest in this fic. But if I’m wrong, the characters are Louis XIV’s Head of Security, a ruthless man who seems to be able to do anything for the king. And Claudine is a doctor’s daughter who is a far more skillful healer than her father. It struck me that they are basically the complete opposites of each other, and the fic sprung from that.
