Taking stock of February
Mar. 11th, 2018 10:08 amMarch is well underway, but I haven’t had time to settle my thoughts for summing up February until now.
Lif in general Obviously not on top with my father’s illness and my sister being worried.
Health February continued being bad health-wise, with something swollen in my stomach, and then getting half of my face paralysed. Borrelia is very peculiar. But I’m feeling a lot better after my antibiotics treatment, and in retrospect I think I have had symptoms for a long time; more than a year, because I feel markedly different. But all the different sources for stress has made my eating habits go nuts, and for the first time in many years I have gained weight.
I miss the belly dancing, but given how ill I have been it was probably for the best. Feeling so much better now I’m going to check when they have the drop-in lessons and try to go to them. I’m also, finally, getting back in taking long walks with the dogs. I have also checked out where I can go to yoga close to my home. There are two places. One basically across the road, and one a five minutes walk, so both are very close, and both has good reputation. The one closest to me is cheapest, but they also have significantly fewer classes than the other place. And their online schedule only says “Yoga”, though they state elsewhere they have different classes. So I don’t know yet how many of those classes I could actually go to. The other place is more than double in price, have a lot of classes, as well as pilates and a swimming pool. For the moment i’m inclined to go with the cheaper place, though i will have to check out that schedule first. It’s not that i can’t afford the other place, but I’d like to be certain this agree with me as much as I think before I commit to a higher cost.
I’ll have to wait until next month anyway, as this month saw an expensive visit to the dentist- sweden’s health care is free, apart, for some reason, the dentist. Meanwhile I have been working through Adriene’s Foundations of Yoga series to learn more about the positions. I’ve also checked out her beginner’s videos and tried out one yesterday which seems to be on the level my body can handle. The plan is to do it regularly and see what happens.
Economy Money is unusually tight due to the dentist. I’m still working on limiting my purchases. Books are a big culprit as it’s way too easy with Kindle’ “one-click” system. Also, it’s easy to find a lot of cheap books there, but a lot of a little adds up to a lot in the end. Best not to check Amazon at all… We are also going to England in two weeks, which will be another drain, even if I don’t plan any shopping sprees.
Sewing I’m finally back on the sewing wagin. My black corset is temporarily on hold as I need more boning. So I’m currently sewing a chemise and a pair of drawers in a nice self-striped cotton batiste. It’s not super exciting, but I need underwear anyway.
