More on Yuletide nominations
Sep. 30th, 2019 12:22 pmAfter some dithering, I have been able to weed out The Historian for this year’s Yuletide. Now I only have three to boil down to one…
Deadwood Lots of for, as it is one of my all-time favourite TV shows. Even if I’m mostly into fic with Al/Alma, I’m happy with reading about just anyone from the show. My main against it that even if I love it, I also feel I can’t write it myself- my English isn’t up for the verbosity of Deadwood. And with the new movie, it’s not unlikely it will be nominated by someone else.
The Mummy (1999) Evy/Ardeth/Rick is my main O3P, and a fic about hem always make my day Also, it’s a fandom I feel capable of writing too, which is quite important- sometimes I have to stretch myself into finding enough fandoms to write for to fill up my sign-up. In fact, the only reason to not nominate this fandom is that it’s fairly popular and may be nominated by someone else.
Ivanhoe In a way this is really a Yuletide fandom- there are only a handful of fics, and it would be lovely to have more. Rebecca of York/Brian de Bois-Guilbert was probably my first OTP too. It’s also a fandom I can write about myself. The main con is that it's so small it’s not that likely anyone will write it, and with Elizabeth and the Garrett Theatre I already have a minuscule fandom among my nominations.
So, decisions, decisions. I may be a little sly and nominate late and hope someone else pick Deadwood and The Mummy
