I’m a few days early, but it's time to do the AO3 stats meme again. Last year can be found here. It’s not the best comparison though, as I decided to pull several of my Peter Pan fics after being harassed by a flamer. Still, it was fun to do it again.

I currently have 77 fics on AO3 divided between 13 fandoms.

Top ten by hits
1. Come Here Puppy (Doctor Who, 448 words, Missy/Clara Oswald) Hits- 960
2.
All Within (Harry Potter, 11704 words, Lucius Malfoy/Luna Lovegood) Hits- 843
3.Not Totally Useless (Peter Pan, 855 words, Captain Hook/Tinker Bell) Hits- 835
4. A Nightime Visit(Peter Pan, 1025 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Hits- 698
5.Bath Time (Peter Pan, 1054 words, Captain Hook/Tinker Bell) Hits- 679
6.Within Reach (The Mummy, 397 words, Imhotep/Evy) Hits- 659
7.Dreams (Peter Pan, 358 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Hits- 657
8. Man’s Greatest Joy (Peter Pan, 14348 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Hits- 627
9. A Matter of Choice (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 2787 words, Willy Wonka/Veruca Salt, Charlie Bucket/Veruca Salt) Hits- 600
10. A Milder Fate (Peter Pan, 4084 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Hits- 592

Only All Within and A Milder Fate were on this list a year ago. Last year also six of the fics I have then pulled from AO3. Hits for one-shots really say more about the popularity of a fandom than the quality of the fics. I wrote Come Here Puppy just after last season’s first Doctor Who premiere, so no wonder the hit count went up there. Usually I don’t write popular fics. I was a bit surprised that my Peter Pan-fics gets so many hits but then I realised it must be due to Once upon A Time. Then A Matter of Choice is stranger as that fandom is pretty death, but I guess it’s the sex. It’s a pretty hardcore consensual BDSM-fic and that usually get hits, if nothing else.

Top ten by kudos
1. Come Here Puppy (Doctor Who, 448 words, Missy/Clara Oswald) Kudos- 68
2.
A Milder Fate (Peter Pan, 4084 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Kudos- 42
3. Dudley’s Cousin (Harry Potter, 2713 words, Dudley Dursley, Harry Potter) Kudos- 35
4. Man’s Greatest Joy (Peter Pan, 14348 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Kudos- 34
5. All Within (Harry Potter, 11704 words, Lucius Malfoy/Luna Lovegood) Kudos- 30
6. Dreams (Peter Pan, 358 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Kudos- 26
7. A Nightime Visit(Peter Pan, 1025 words, Captain Hook/Wendy Darling) Kudos- 25
8. A Letter(Penny Dreadful, 857 words, Sir Malcolm Murray, Vanessa Ives) Kudos- 25
9. Masquerade (Peter Pan, 840 words, Captain Hook/Mrs. Darling) Kudos- 24
10. Elizabeth’s Child (Emily of New Moon, 1116 words, Elizabeth Murray) Kudos- 23

A Milder Fate, Masquerade, Dudley’s Cousin and All Within were on the list last year and four that also were there have been pulled. Kudos are a much better indication if my readers enjoy what I read. Still, fics with a lot of hits gets more kudos by default. So I amused myself with splitting kudos with hits for a somewhat better average.

Top ten with kudos split with hits
1. Masquerade (Peter Pan, Captain Hook/Mrs. Darling) 1 kudo given for every 5th hit.
2. Elizabeth’s Child (Emily of New Moon, 1116 words, Elizabeth Murray) 1 kudo given for every 5,7th hit.
3. Merry Christmas Master(Doctor Who, 366 words, Delgado!Master, Third Doctor, Jo Grant) 1 kudo given for every 6,1th hit.
4. I Don’t Want You(Doctor Who, 109 words, the Doctor, the Master) 1 kudo given for every 6,8th hit.
5. Little Miss Sunbeam (DW, Delgado!Master, OFC) 1 kudo given for every 6,9th hit.
6. All That You Love Will Be Lost (DW, The Ninth Doctor, Nyssa of Traken) 1 kudo given for every 6,9th hit.
7. A Place In the Shadows (Penny Dreadful, 1216 words,Vanessa Ives, Sembene) 1 kudo given for every 7,3rd hit.
8. Solace (DW, Ainley!Master, Nyssa of Traken) 1 kudo given for every 7,7th hit.
9. The Doctor and the Sun(Doctor Who, 329 words, Fourth Doctor) 1 kudo given for every 8.4rd hit
10. Chess Pieces(Doctor Who, 180 words, Delgado!Master) 1 kudo given for every 8.4rd hit.

Masquerade topped last years list, so I guess that one is my best liked fic. I like it too, even if it isn’t my favourite. But it’s pretty romantic albeit with a slightly darker twist, so I guess it appeals. Little Miss Sunbeam also remains and that is also a rather sweet story. I’m very happy that All That You Love Will Be Lost and Solace has stayed on as they are two of my personal favourites. Of course this is not a perfect system as multi-chapters gets more hits because of more chapters but a reader can only give kudos once. I checked my multi-chapters anyway and was pleased to see that Professor Keller came up first with 1 kudo for every 13,8th hit. Given that this fic only have an average of 15 hits/chapter this means a lot of people who read it liked it, which of course makes me happy as this fic probably is my own favourite. It came second to Burning, though, which has 13,6. On the other hand it averages 50 hits/chapter, so more people has read it without leaving kudos.

10. The First Passion, and the Last (Doctor Who, 1140 words, Missy/River Song/Twelfth Doctor) Comments- 3

Dudley’s Cousin and Sliding Down the Razorblades of Life are the only ones left from last year. Six from this year have been written for fic exchanges, which I think is why they generate more comments.

10. The Doctor and the Sun(Doctor Who, 329 words, Fourth Doctor) Bookmarks- 2 (I actually have 10 fics with 2 bookmarks, but I chose this one as it has the fewest hits.)

Kudos are a good, but bookmarks are better? At least it indicate that the reader want to be able to find the fic again. From last year Dudley’s Cousin and Crow's Feet On the Prettiest Eyes are the only one left from last year. The big surprise was A Most Suitable Revenge. My experience is that the dark and explicit fics usually gets a lot of hits, but fewer kudos, comments and bookmarks.

In general I’m surprised over the popularity of Dudley’s Cousin. It’s in no way remarkable- basically how Dudley Dursley met his future wife and it’s still a WIP. All in all it was great fun to delve into my stats and see what has changed. If you read my fics, which one is your favourite?
