One of these days I will catch up with all of you

But not today. I’m still very far from well and my energy levels are, well, pretty low. I have no voice, a cough constantly and my chest hurt. It’s still “only” bronchitis, my doctor checked for pneumonia on Wednesday. I’ll need to get back to her tomorrow because I can’t work if I have no voice. I’m SO ready to be rid of this now! My husband is worried for me, which is uncomfortable because he is not the type who worries. I’m more fed up. I missed my belly dance lesson this week and will likely miss the one on Tuesday too. AND I missed the Divine Comedy-concert I had been looking forward to in months! But I had a temperature and such a nast cought that day. The friend I was going with could sell my ticket to someone else so I didn’t lose my money, but I feel bitter over the concert. Another reason to get well- I have tickets for Elvis Costello next Wednesday.

I spend my time reading and watching TV-shows. I’m a bit bored with that now. And napping. Lots of naps punctuated with coughing. I’m bored with that too. I would like to write more, but my body prefer the sofa over the computer chair.

I re-watched Deadwood, which will remain one of my favorite shows. I just wish it had been given another season. Season 3 doesn’t even end with a big finale, things are just halted and there are so many loose ends left hanging. So it was a nice surprise finding a pretty much perfect Deadwood-fic in The Chocolate Box. Not written for me, but if felöt like a gift anyway:

Black Darjeeling, Mature Alma/Al In which a partnership is formed and consummated. (May God help anyone who ever happens to get in its way.) The author has not only an eye for the character, the voices are perfect too! I could never mimic the very characteristic way Al speaks. The fic nicely sets off their very different characters and makes it work perfectly!

I got a nice little Mummy-fic as gift, but it’s extremely dark, so only read it if you are in the mood for it. Not at all explicit, but there are warnings for non-con and murder:

Bleeding For You (Falling Forever), Mature Evy/Imhotep She was his. Perhaps she had always been his, for thousands and thousands of years, destined to be his sacrifice.
