scripsiI ended up waiting for Yuletide to open and gobbled up my fic at once. I really liked it and can recommend it:

I also got a very positive, several paragraph's long review on my gift fic, so I think I can safely assume that my recipicent really liked the story! And I think my treat-ee liked the treat as well. I hope all my fellow Yuletiders got fic they liked too!
