I vastly prefer A03 to fanfiction.net. Agree with you, that ff is definitely clunky. It also seems to be more of a YA-focused site, with regards to the stories posted. As writing for that genre doesn't interest me in the least, I never post there. On A03, I can post mature fics, and it's easy to include proper tags and warnings, etc.
When it comes to fan fic, I write it for my own pleasure and entertainment. The fandoms and ships I like and write for are not always the popular ones. But I do have my little niche on A03.
What fandoms are the sites you mentioned for? Or are they communities or challenges on DW?
