Grimm is back and I’m mighty pleased. Anyone else watching it? I was a bit meh when it first started, but it has grown into one of my favourite series. Monroe is probably my favourite sidekick ever and on the whole I think the series do a stellar job in depicting friendship and how friendship can be on different levels but still have values. Nick and Monroe are clearly BFF’s, Nick and Hank are great workmates who enjoy spending some free time together as well, when Wu is more a good workmate they value but perhaps wouldn’t see after work. And then there is the beaver guy who have a hard case of hero worship for Nick and is so happy that he gets to be in on their buddy night with beers. And Rosalie and Juliette’s friendship feels genuine as well.
I have a bit of a crush for Sasha Roiz Captain Renard. I like ambigious guys and I wonder if he will turn out to be the Big Bad eventually. At the moment that one is his cousin (btw, has Alexis Denisof completely stopped aging?), but when he is gone? Renard is very much for self-preservation and we have got more than hints that he likes power. He likes Nick, but I feel he will also use him and, probably, also be able to turn against him.
I’d like to see more about those keys, though. We have been teased with them for four seasons now… But I noticed that IMDB states that there will be a season five. Yay!
Spoilers for last episode below the cut.
I’m usually very good at predicting the plot, for example, I knew about the rabbit’s foot as soon as it was cut off, but I did NOT see that Adelind would be pregnant with Nick’s child. Especially as we had already been made to believe that Juliette was pregnant, when she was, in fact, a Hexenbiest. Didn’t see that coming either, actually.
I wonder if they plan to revive the love triangle between Nick, Juliette and Renard. Nick was clearly very disturbed over Juliette’s transformation and also hurt that she went to Renard first. Juliette and Renard, on the other hand, seem very comfortable with each other. There is also the fact that when Adelinde and Renard had sex, she told him that whatever he felt for Juliette, she still couldn’t give him everything because she was just a human. There is an implication there that even if Juliette and Renard were under a spell when they were so powerfully attracted to each other, Renard thinks Juliette is attractive even beyond any spells. He did do that spell with the prince kissing the sleeping beauty and there is usually a bit about True Love when that happens in fairy tales. And now Juliette is capable to give him everything.
So definitly looking forward to the next episode!
