Isn’t summer colds grand? And why do they always erupt when you are off work? On the other hand, I have a great excuse for not doing much today.

I went and signed up for Remix Redux 15 and felt absolutely petrified when I got my assignment. But then I got an idea and have even written a bit on it and feel confident that I will make the deadline, which is June 21. I just hope the person a remix a fic for won’t hate it. And I’m quite curious what someone will make out of one of mine. Though there is always a possibility that said someone won’t make it, of course.

So I feel emboldened and have decided to sign up for [livejournal.com profile] rarepairfest too. It ought to suit me.

I also hope I will be able to write something for [livejournal.com profile] who_contest ‘Classics’-challenge, but the only plot bunny I have right now involved Three, Sarah Jane and Cheetah!Master. I’m not sure that will work out…

I’m also happily writing away on Professor Keller. Not many reads it, but I knew that before I started it, but I’m so very pleased with it and have a lot of fun writing. (I wonder why I always place myself in fandom corners that no one is particulary interested in. A sub-concious fear of being read, perhaps?) I also wonder a bit why it is so satisfying to write, and read, dark-fics. It’s my main cup cup of fandom-tea, both as a writer and a reader. I’m really not that keen on tragedies when I read books, I actually prefer happy endings. So I have come to the conclusion that the reason I’m drawn to it when it comes to fanfic is because “it’s not real”. Well, books aren’t either, but with fanfic there is already a canon and even if I write or read something really sad, canon is still there with (hopefully) nicer fates to the characters. So they don’t suffer for “real”.

DW really is a perfect fandom and I still wonder why I didn't start earlier. I have been a big fan of the show since 2003, or so. But perhaps it needed to mature.

As the Doctor would agree, timing is everything! ;-)
