[livejournal.com profile] bearshorty asked me Three top 5 questions.

I’m not a huge shipper, so I had to think a bit on this. Usually I’m happy with any ship described in a good way, but of course there are some ship I like a bit more.

1. The Doctor/the Master (Doctor Who). I’m not big on slash, though I certainly don’t mind it, but this is a ship that is very hard not to see. And though I haven’t exactly written this ship, it’s on the back of my mind whenever I write the Master.

2. Classic Master/River Song. I’ve always thought that one of the reasons the Doctor is drawn to River is because she is a bit like the Master without the Evulz. But she’s a bit like the Doctor too, without his inhibitions, to witch follows that I think the Master and River would probably like each other very well.

3. The Hessian/Lady van Tassel (Sleepy Hollows). I’m talking the movie here. I haven’t watched the series because they killed off Clancy Brown just at the beginning and I got in a sulk. Perhaps I should give it a new try. But I digress. Burton’s movie is an old favourite and I like Lady van Tassel’s villain. And one could argue that the pairing is perfectly canon.

4. Sir Malcolm Murray/Vanessa Ives (Penny Dreadful). I’m stubbornly ignoring all hints of them actually being father and daughter. I will continue to clap my hands to my ears and sing la-la-la until it is actually spelled out in the show.

5. The Brigadier/Liz Shaw (Doctor Who). I think they would be smashing together.

I’m not super-well travelled, apart from Sweden I guess I have visited about ten cities, but of course I have favourites.

1. Stockholm, Sweden. My hometown, so I’m biased, but I love it and can’t imagine living anywhere else.

2. Rome, Italy. My husband loves Italy and we have been to Rome twice and are going back again in November.

3. London, UK. I’ve been to London a lot and never grow tired of it.

4. Riga, Latvia. A friend of mine lived there for several years and I visited quite often. The old city with it’s Art Nouveau houses are spectacular and I have never eaten so well anywhere else, the food is really excellent.

5. Venice, Italy. It’s a tourist trap, but somehow the city stands above all that. I didn’t believe in the magic of Venice until I visited, but now I do. Also, the opera is top notch, though the food is better in Rome.

I love to cook, so I opt to choose from the food I make myself. I’ve eaten great meals in restaurants that I have no hope to ever copy and it somehow doesn’t seem fair to choose them. My husband likes to cook as well and we spend quite a lot of money on good food, buying organic whenever possible. We don’t use any light products either, because we don’t like the taste and we cook almost everything from scratch. I do believe it’s better to eat well, because you satisfy your taste buds and I’ve realised that I eat less when the food is good.

1. Indian lamb koftas (meatballs) with spiced yellow rice. We all love Indian food in our family and this is my favourite, which means I make it about once a month. It’s time consuming, but so worth making.

2. Breaded flatfish with homemade mashed potatoes. Sooo, good. I find fish hard to cook, but well made there is nothing better.

3. Lasagna

4. Walnuts and garlic with pasta. I’m the only one who likes walnuts in my family, so I can only eat this when I’m alone, which is probably a good thing. It’s really easy to make. Finely chop a handful of walnuts and a clove of garlic. Fry gently, both walnuts and garlic burn easily. Mix with the cooked pasta (for me 110 gram of dry pasta is enough.) along with a dollop of creme fraiche and freshly shredded Pecorino cheese.

5.Roasted goose with cooked potatoes and everything. My father’s family is from the south of Sweden where traditionally St. Martin’s Day, November 10 is celebrated with a goose dinner. I love goose!
