January 1st and I have a lot to post today. First, I hope you all had a great New Years Eve! We stayed at home and had a very good dinner, watched Sherlock with the kid and tumbled into bed not that long into 2016. New Year's Eve is also husband’s birthday and we usually do just this, stay at home. Sometimes we host a small dinner party, but not this year.

I don’t do resolutions for a new year, but I would really like to take up drawing again. I used to do it a lot, I even went to art school, but I haven’t done it much in the past decade, or so, and I would like to find a way into it again. I feel terribly rusty.

Chocolate Box is open for sign ups now. Multi-fandom and the minimum words are just 300, so pretty much a low-pressure thing:

You need a minimum of 3 fandoms to request and 4 to offer, and up to ten for requests and offers. You also need to choose whether you want fanfic, fanart, or you would like either of them.

Answer )

There are still plenty of empty spots if you want to ask me anything here!

The Yuletide authors have been revealed and I can post my stories here. This is my main gift fic, written for redsnake05.

Title: A Place In the Shadows
Fandom: Penny Dreadful
Rating: All ages
Genre: Gen, friendship
Word Count: 1216
Characters: Vanessa Ives, Sembene
Warnings: None
Summary: Cold in both body and soul, Vanessa finds an unexpected comfort.
AN: One of the things I love about Penny Dreadful is how it manages to evoke such things as smell and sense, not just sounds and vision. I tried to capture some of that in this fic as well. I labeled this fic Gen, but there is a hint of Vanessa/Sembene. Thanks to LilacFree for beta-reading.

And here is my Yuletide treat, written for [personal profile] evelyn_b

Title: Elizabeth’s Child
Fandom: Emily of New Moon
Rating: All ages
Genre: Gen, introspection
Word Count: 1116
Characters: Elizabeth Murray
Warnings: None
Summary: Elizabeth remembers her dead sister Juliet.
AN: I have always liked Elizabeth who, even if she is narrow-minded, proud and stubborn, still grow to love Emily, even if she doesn’t understand her. She isn’t quite there yet here, though. Thanks to [personal profile] bearshorty for beta-reading.
