scripsiMy letter for Chocolate Box. Just pass it by if you don't do it.
Likes: Missing scenes. “What-if” AUs. Epilogues. Bittersweet romances. Introspection fics. Funny fics where the character banter or snark at each other. Any rating is fine and if you want to bring in more characters than I have wished for, then please do so. I like angst and darker fics, happy endings optional. I’m fine with mind control, manipulation, non-con, dub-con, psychological sadism and BDSM (not femdom). With a but for non-con and dub-con. I’m a rape survivor and reading and writing about it is a way for me to deal with it. So I like when the personal consequences from traumatic experiences are explored, but balk at rape thrown in for the shock value. Minor violence is ok. Polyamory- even if it isn't in the requested pairings, I wouldn't mind it.
I don’t like: Character bashing, or character’s suddenly changing personalities “just because”. A good character may go darker or an evil one become nicer, but then I like to have a good reason for that change. Modern AU’s. Fluffy romance. Pregnancy fics.
I’m totally squicked by: Amputation, body horror, cannibalism blood play, wet, scat, child abuse, medical experimentation, torture, incest, animal abuse, mpreg and too gory violence.
Doctor Who
I have a fascination with villains (and heroes) who are a bit ambiguous and the Master definitely fits the bill, He is evil, but he can be charming and though usually dysfunctional, can form relationships of sorts. I also have a huge crush on Roger Delgado… I enjoy shipping River Song with the Master/Missy. I think the Master would like her because she’s a lot like the Doctor, though without his moral brakes and River would like the Master much for the same reason. And thanks to the lovely chemistry between Capaldi and Kingston, I know find myself shipping Twelve/River quite hard. I wouldn't mind a fic with Twelve/River/Master or Missy, not at all. And I wouldn't be surprised if one of River's wifes turned out to be Missy.
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, both book and TV-series
A fascinating multi-level book with so many interesting characters that I just want more from. I would enjoy seeing the further development of Arabella’s and Lady Pooles friendship, for example, or what happened to them in the Gentleman with the Thistledown Hair’s Palace, as well as Stephen Black's. I adore Childermass in any shape and form, though I casually ship him with Lady Poole. Though I find the book far better, I love the visuals and casting of the TV-series.
Penny Dreadful (TV)
This is very much the TV-show I have been waiting for all my life. I adore Victorian horror novels and I also have a penchant for old horror movies. Penny Dreadful is visually stunning and have so many interesting characters. But I especially love the relationship between Vanessa Ives and Sir Malcolm Murray. I ship them and as long as it isn’t explicitly said in the show, I don’t see them as father and daughter. I also adore Sembene who I feel if the heart of the band heroes.
