I know I’ve already done a fanfic meme, but I think they are fun to do, for my sake, even if no one else is interested. :)

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, fewer than you thought, or about what you predicted?
Less. But if you compare with the several year long writing lull I had before late 2014, I still wrote a lot. :)

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2016?
Quite a few new fandom. Versailles, pairing Fabien/Claudine and Fabien/Sophie. Agent Carter. pairing Peggy/Jarvis/Ana. Once Upon A Time in Wonderland, pairing Ana/Knave of Hearts and Ana/Jafar. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, pairing Arabella/Flora and Arabella/Childermass. And though I can’t tell you which fandoms yet, my treats for Yuletide are in new fandoms too. In older fandoms I have paired Fifth Doctor/Clara (Doctor Who) and Evy/Rick and Evy/Ardeth Bay (The Mummy).

I surprised myself with writing several love stories which, even if angsty, ultimately ended on a happy note.

What's your favourite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest?
Probably my Agent Carter-fic, Requesting Comfort. And a short gen-fic for Doctor Who: Merry Christmas Master.

Story most under appreciated by the universe?
Professor Keller (Doctor Who). I get why it isn't popular, it’s darkfic with the dreaded thing called original character. So it has few readers, but the little feedback I have got has been very positive and I think it’s a good story. Provided you like angst and is prepared to believe an OC isn’t automatically a Mary Sue. :)

Story that could have been better?
All of them? I can always see the flaws in my fics after a while. But The Substitute Teacher (Doctor Who) was written for a gift exchange and I ran out of time. It’s not a bad story, but in the middle it could have benefitted to have a paragraph or two to tie it together better.

Sexiest story?
I’ve written a lot less smut this year, but Show Me (Versailles.

Most fun story?
Merry Christmas Master.

52,000+ words isn't a bad count, though! And hurrah for trying out new things! I always like a good fanfic meme (but, you're right, sometimes it is hard to say much on them). Like who knows why some fics are popular and some aren't? Sometimes there's obvious reason, sometimes it's just chance and what gets recced or anything.

It can be so strange! I mean, I totally get why a fic like Professor Keller doesn't generate much attention. And I get that the fic featuring Missy and Clara which I wrote the day after the episode aired, got a lot of it. But then I have an old Peter Pan fic which gets so many hits and it drives me bonkers. Especially since I have another one with the same pairing which doesn't. I think it must be recced somewhere, but I haven't been able to find out where!
