I have an ickily early morning tomorrow, but I won't be able to sleep until I have written myself off the DW finale.

Spoliers below!

I don't believe Missy/Master is gone. Everyone knows s/he is impossible to permantly kill off, and the Master, of all people, should know that. I think Missy had an idea of what might happen- or the Doctor had, and she got some of his regeneration energy. And voila, the Master is back. And if the Master becomes Missy in part because she was the last person who made an impression on him, she ought to turn into a Master that resembles him, which at this point was pretty old school Master. I for one wouldn't mind. I think it is very possible that the new Master will come back evil again-I'm certain really. It wouldn't do to have a permanetly good Master.

I loved Simms!Master this time around. I've always adored John Simms and I wanted to love his Master, but I didn't. However this cooler, but very cruel Master was pretty much perfect. I would have loved to have more of him. And Missy too!

And how wonderful wasn't it to have two Masters playing off each other? They did get along! I always thought they would, just because the Doctor never reallly does with himself. And of course the Master would be turned on by himself/herself. And how fitting of them to kill each other. And laugh about it.

Peter Capaldi was stellar, and I really, really don't want him to go. Well, at least we will have the Christmas episode.

I noticed they left an opening for a female Doctor.

I was completely surprised by One's appearance. Nice to not have everything spoiled. I foresee a lot of bickering in the next episode. I wonder if they will see Susan? I hope so.

Loved that Bill didn't die, but it would have worked better if Moffat hadn't pulled this stunt with Clara and Me last season. So now we have two sets of immortal females roaming the Universe? Very original. I prefer Bill not dying over Clara not dying. The whole of season 9 was a big plant for Clara actually dying- and then she sort of didn't. I found it more satisfying with Bill not dying as she had this enormous will to live, and curiousity. I really wanted her to stay for another season, though.

On the whole I thought this was a great season!

I would have liked Bill to cross over to the next Doctor.

I really wish Capaldi wasn't going yet.

I was unfortunately spoiled because of our DVR. I waited to watch Doctor Who with M today, but I watched Orphan Black last night when I got back from visiting a friend upstate. The way the recording went, I saw One and Twelve together for a split second at the beginning of the Orphan Black recording. Dammit.

I kind of want Missy/Master naughtyfic, and I feel bad saying so.

I agree wit pretty much everything you say here. I like Simm!Master much more here, as he was more Master-like and less over the top crazy than during RTD times. And, no, of course this is not the end of the Master.

And, god, I agree about the ending for Bill. This ending for her would have been so perfect - if it weren't the exact same ending we had for Clara. And if I had a choice Clara would have died and Bill would have had this ending. *sigh*

Why is Capaldi leaving, damn it. He's so fun to watch and Bill.. I wish we had her for another season...

I finally just scrolled back to this, as I just watched it last night, and had to make my own post about it too, because I loved this episode. :D

Agreed, I loved Simms Master in this episode, and I love Missy too. I wish we could have has another episode of the duo, but perhaps I wouldn't have loved them together as much if there had been more, as their scenes were so brilliant!

I wish we had another season with Peter Capaldi too, but with new writers, we get new Doctors. I was thrown off by what seems to be the entire cast clean-out, but looking back, we had that when we went from RTD to Moffat, just not in such a dramatic way.

We seem to have a few immortal? characters floating around. Or at least long lived ones. I feel like Bill got ripped off a bit, with only one season, and she didn't really get to experience a lot of the fun and wonder that many of the other companions did.
