Life seems to pull itself together, in that one thing has been fixed. I’m still very tired, so I will likely remain a bit invisible here. But this is what is fine now:

When Tom became ill they found a “something” in his stomach, which was first thought to be the source of his illness. It wasn’t, but it turned out to be a tumour. Not a malign one, he has always had one of his testicles placed wrongly, and if that happens they may become tumours in the end. This explained another thing I don’t think I have mentioned earlier. This summer Tom started to loose fur. First on his chest, then his tummy and starting on neck and tail. We’ve been to the Vet about it, but until now they have been unable to determine why. Now we know; the tumour had started to produce oestrogen which in male dogs can cause hair loss. After some consideration we decided to have it removed. At first we didn’t want to put our old dog through surgery, but we talked to two vets who both thought it would work. So he had surgery a week ago. As it turned out it was lucky we did, because in the few weeks since the tumour was detected, it had more than doubled in size. Very soon it would have caused him considerably pain. He is quite perky, and the wound looks as good as can be expected. His fur should start growing back in about a month. He is rather annoyed over the cone of shame though:

And we have been worried. Hopefully he will continue to improve, and his fur ought to start growing back in about a month.

The other stuff is still unsolved, though it has started to look like it will be fine too eventually. As for now I feel exhausted just by thinking about writing it all down.

Let’s talk about some nice things instead.

As for Yuletide, I have reached the minimum word count and and also most of what I want to put into it, so now I just have to finetune it. Yay me!

Stress always cause my skin to break out, so today I had a facial. I’ve been going to the same woman for 20 years now, so by now we know each other pretty well. And she knows my skin; I’m convinced I can thank her (and to some degree my genes) that I look pretty much the same now as I did ten years ago.

I have the day off tomorrow so will go with my parents and visit my sister. I haven’t seen my adorable Nephew since August, and he has started to walk since then.

Yesterday i wanted Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day. I can’t believe how I have managed to miss this movie! It’s right up my alley, AND it has Ciaran Hinds whom I adore and usually make a point in watching regardless of what he is in. I even suffered a Lara Croft-movie because of him. But this movie was pure delight, and if you haven’t seen it, I urge you to do so. Miss Pettigrew is a governess who is constantly fired, and due to a misunderstanding she is suddenly employed as a ditsy singer’s social secretary. Which she is actually good at, and in the course of a day she gets a makeover, forms a firm friendship with the singer and help solving her romantic entanglement. And gets a little entanglement of her own in Ciaran Hinds character. Lightweight perhaps, but funny and heartwarming and one or two more serious moments. All in a gorgeous 1930’s setting.

Aw, poor Tom! I'm glad it was all caught in time, though.

And Miss Pettigrew is great! And I am surprised that you hadn't seen it already, too, considering the presence of Ciaran Hinds. ;-)

Poor Tom and his cone of shame! I hope the other horrible stuff eases off for you. Hang in there.
