Usually retrospects takes place at the end of the year. But at that point Yuletide isn’t yet revealed, and those fics are, technically, written before the end of the year, though they are revealed after. So I do my retrospect now, instead.

Since December 2016 I have posted 13 finished fics and 1 WIP in 8 fandoms:

A little less productive on a surface level; last year i wrote 16 fics, but I’ve 18000 more words this year. The fic with most hits and kudos was A Bewildered Heart, and the one with most comment was My Only Love. Overall I’m pleased with my writing, though I feel I’m a bit clunky at times. I’m probably most pleased with But A Dream and my Versailles-fics. I’m still not used in writing love stories which ends happily! I’m also pleased with Super Terram which, even if it owns it’s existence to M. R. James, is still an original work. I’m also still very pleased with the psychological horror of Professor Keller, even though hardly anyone reads it. But I knew from the beginning it wouldn’t be a very attractive fic. As for gen and ship, I have written 4 gen fics, 10 M/F and ,1 M/M. A lot less gen than last year, which probably has to do with writing more multi.chapter which for me tends to be ship-fics.

I have a few plans for next year. I really want to finish Nothing Interesting Ever Happens in Perivale, especially since most of it is already written. I have large chunks of a new Versailles-fic written too. I also have an idea for a third Dracula-story, but I feel I need to re-write Clara and Sophie first. Partly because my English has improved since I wrote them, and partly because I want to tweak them a little so the three parts fit better together. I also really need to decide what to do about my old WIP’s. At the moment I feel sadly uninspired about them, alas.
