Fanfic meme, question 22 and 23

scripsi22. Do you listen to anything while you write?
My workmates talking and speaking on the phones. (I have a job which includes long periods of waiting, interspersed with very intense periods where I work a lot. During the waiting I’m allowed to do what I like as long as I stay by my computer.) If I write at home I want silence. I can absolutely not listen to music, because I always end up actively listening to that instead of writing. I often listen to music while I think about my fics, though. Several of them I associate with a certain song, and I can listen to it a lot while plotting.
23. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?
A mix of both. I often check out letters in fanfic challenges even if I haven’t signed up, and write treats for letters that inspire me. But just as often I come up with ideas on my own.
