[profile] alec_towser asked: What's your favourite type of music?

The shortest answer would be to say what I don’t like; rap and country and western. My choice of music depends very much on mood, which drives my husband to despair as he has a much more narrow taste than I have. If I’m sewing he usually pops into the sewing room at least once and ask what I am listening to now?, his tone of voice implying he is shocked the woman he married could listen to that.

But checking the history on Spotify these are the artists that occurs most often; Depeche Mode, The Beatles, Aurelio Voltaire, Tom McRae, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, The Beautiful South, Fish, Kate Bush and The Divine Comedy.

You and I are quite similar in that I listen to darn near every genre and on any given day you'll find me listening to anything from The Dead Kennedys to the Andrews Sisters.

Yeah, met too aöthough I tend to listen to more pop songs in general.

Otherwise it's interesting you listen to music while sewing because I'm almost always listen to an audio book or an audio play while sitting at my sewing mashine:)

I can never get into audio books, I just get irritated by the pace. But i have been thinking of trying audio plays. :)

I'll listen to any old rubbish, but I don't like 'jazzy' stuff, piano pieces where they play the piano really slowly and "relaxing" tunes. I'm all for the rhythm.

Muzak kind of music is pretty boring, yes. :)

The only genre i am not into is country music as it seems to do nothing for me, and perhaps some styles of hip hop. Other than that i have a very eclectic taste. Yesterday i was listening to some jazz, today it hs been soul ballads , and maybe tomorrow classical.

Quite similar in what we DON'T listen to (though I state there are always exceptions to every rule).

True. My favourite artist Voltaire made a country record a few years ago. I listened to that one. But the lyrics was not your average country lyrics... :)
