A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
I don’t have any OTPs, but there are, of course, pairings I like.
Doctor Who: Doctor/River Song, but also River Song/The MasterIMissy, the Doctor/the mAster, and the Doctor/River Song/Missy. And because I have a knack for liking things no one else like, I ship AInley!Master/Sarah Jane Smith.
Versailles Fabien Marchal with both Claudine and Sophie.
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell Childermass/Emma Pole/John Segundus
The Mummy: Ardeth/Evy/Rick, or just Evy/Ardeth and Evy/Imhotep.
Penny Dreadful Vanessa Ives/Sir Malcolm Murray
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
The closest to that was probably me re-watching the two first Mummy-movies this year and suddenly finding myself wanting Rick/Evy/Ardeth. But that's not exactly like someone changing my mind, but rather me changing.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Hmm, I can’t think of any. There are plenty of popular ships I don’t particularly care about, but none I wish I liked. :)
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?
I usually go to Wikipedia first.
I - Has social media caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
No. But there are fandoms I feel wary about, even if I like the original show/movie/book a lot. I’m always amazed how nasty and vindictive some fans can be. I don’t get shipwars and shaming what you don’t like.
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
I’m a big fan of Martha Jones’ arc in Doctor Who and up until the point she was whisked away to become a higher power; Cordelia Chase in Buffy and Angel.
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
The Doctor.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
Well, I would, of course, like more fics about my obscure pairings! And my favourite characters and themes. But I can hardly pout over the fact there's so little of it. Just as I write what I most enjoy, so does everyone else.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
Well, most of the songs I I know doesn’t remind me of fandom. But Depeche Mode’s Broken turned up on Spotify on my way to work, and that song always reminds me of the relationship between the Doctor/the Master.
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
The first fandom I wrote fic in; Peter Pan. Partly because there are very few characters and settings, so it’s a bit difficult to come up ideas after a while. But mostly because those first fic was very much therapy and a lot of what I wrote then, I wouldn't’ write now.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
The Doctor and his companions. I almost never ship the Doctor romantically, but I adore the friendship he has with his companions.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
I have so many favourites. Let’s see, I guess these are my current top three.
Fabien Marchal, king Louis XIV's head of security in Versailles. I have a great love for villains or morally ambiguous characters. Fabien is ruthless and brutal, but he is also very loyal and clearly has a moral code. Of sorts.
Evy Carnahan in the two first Mummy-movies. What is there not to love? She smart, a librarian, gorgeous and funny.
Vanessa Ives in Penny Dreadful. She is such an amazing character, pulled between good and evil.
V - Which character do you relate to most?
Hmm. The first character I remember I identified in was Alice in Alice in Wonderland. I was a child prone to analysing thing much in the same way as Alice. As an adult, probably Liz Shaw in Doctor WHo. My personality is quite like hers and we also look quite alike, though I don’t have red hair.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Not so much plot tropes, but character tropes. Flawed heroes. Characters who have an ambiguous moral or straddle the line between good and evil. Female characters who are their own persons and not someone else’s plot.
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
I don’t know. When my friends talk over something I’m not familiar with, I don’t register it much, as I don’t know anything about it. But I guess there are a couple of fandoms I know about, and like the source material, but where I’m not at all involved in fandom. Supernatural is a good example.
I still have Z to answer, but that is getting so long, it will get it’s own post.
